Hello everyone! Welcome to Bibliophilia Book Reviews.

Reading books is my favorite thing in the world, and I wanted to open a space online where I could share my thoughts about the books I am currently reading with you guys. The idea to create this blog first occurred to me when I was looking for book recommendations online and found the wonderful world of Booktube on YouTube a couple of years ago. Now, I follow several booktubers whose recommendations have become instant favorites of mine. Others, I have not been such a big fan of, but I have always had several things to say about every book that I’ve read, whether I liked it or not, and I wanted to have a space where I could share my opinions, recommendations, and book reviews with everyone who is interested.

I am an avid reader of several genres, but the first book I ever read though was a historical fiction book, and to this day that book is still sitting on my shelves. When reviewing books in this blog, though, I will separate the review per category: Reading Challenge, a Re-read, New Author, Series, Book Club Book, Classics, Book in Spanish, Non-Fiction, Memoir, Contemporary, Romance, Unhaul, etcetera. Hopefully, I have reviewed the book you’re looking for.

Even though the standard five-star rating system is the most common practice in reviewing books, I find it that it is also very subjective both to the reader’s personal taste in books and their experience reading a particular book. For example, someone’s 3-star rating can mean a very different thing for someone else. And despite the fact that I have rated books on this system before, I am not very fond of it. That is why I had been thinking of a way to change my ratings, and I came across a booktuber a couple of weeks ago that had the same idea and I decided to adopt a similar system to hers. Here are all the possible categories in which I may rate a book:

New Favorite
I Really Liked It
I Liked It And Will Probably Read It Again
I Liked It But Will Probably Never Read It Again
Okay
I Didn’t Like It
I Didn’t Like It At All

All of these categories are pretty self-explanatory. However if I read the first book in a series and rate it as an Okay book or lower, I will not continue on with the series.

I am also open to reviewing books of self-published or indie authors that want their books reviewed. If you’re interested in me reviewing your book, please contact me at bibliophiliabookreviews@gmail.com. Unfortunately, given that this is a new enterprise, I do not have the means to purchase a copy of the book you might want reviewed. So, if you’re willing to send me a free copy of your book, I will be more than happy to write a review for it. Thank you for understanding.

I usually try to post a new review every week, but that is not always possible. Depending on the length of the book, I may take up to three weeks to post a new review. This is taking into consideration if I already have the book on my shelves or not, and how long it takes me to read it. So please bear with me.

Now, I invite you to turn the page and look around.

Cheers!
