DECEMBER WRAP UP: What I Read This Month

Hello everyone. Welcome back to Bibliophilia Book Reviews. In this post, I will be doing a wrap up of all the books I read in December. This month is probably one of the few months of the year in which I managed to read 8 books. Unfortunately, not all were to my liking. Here goes: 1. NONFICTION: The Dark Queens by Shelley Puhak This book recounts the lives and feud of two Merovingian queens who reigned their respective kingdoms (in what today is France) during the Middle Ages. The first is Brunhild, who was queen of Austrasia for 46 years,…

NOVEMBER WRAP UP: What I Read This Month

Hello everyone. Welcome back to Bibliophilia Book Reviews. In this post, I will be doing a wrap up of all the books I read in November. This month I read more nonfiction books than fiction, and it is perhaps the one month in the entire year thus far where the books I read do not fulfill most (if any) of the prompts in my reading challenge. However, they were all very interesting reads. 1. CLASSIC: The Lost Stradivarius by J. Meade Falkner This is a short novel first published in 1895, and it has been deemed a “classic tale of…

SEPTEMBER WRAP UP: What I Read This Month

Hello everyone. Welcome back to Bibliophilia Book Reviews. In this post, I will be doing a wrap up of all the books I read in September. This month I read five books. It was a rather slow reading month I’ll admit, and unfortunately I did not like two of those five books. Here are my thoughts on all of them: 1. NONFICTION: Unmasked by Paul Holes This book is the memoir of the retired cold case investigator Paul Holes and his relentless search for the Golden State Killer. I enjoyed this book, and the chapters in which the author relates…

AUGUST WRAP UP: What I Read This Month

Hello everyone. Welcome back to Bibliophilia Book Reviews. In this post, I will be doing a wrap up of all the books I read in August. This month is probably the one in which I read the least amount of books that fulfill my monthly reading challenge. I only completed three prompts, and two books of the six that I read this month were rereads. Also, this is the only month of the year thus far in which I read more nonfiction books than fiction. 1. NONFICTION: The Plantagenets: The Warrior Kings and Queens Who Made England by Dan Jones…

JULY WRAP UP: What I Read This Month

Hello everyone. Welcome back to Bibliophilia Book Reviews. In this post, I will be doing a wrap up of all the books I read in July. This month I read 8 books and DNF’d 1. This month I started to read books that I usually don’t read very much in the first place giving my reading tastes a little bit more diversity. One of these types of books is reading a book in Spanish. The books I choose for this prompt are originally published in this language (no translations here, but there’s an idea for a new prompt), but the…

JUNE WRAP UP: What I Read This Month

Hello everyone. Welcome back to Bibliophilia Book Reviews. In this post, I will be doing a wrap up of all the books I read in June. As a friendly reminder, every month I try to read at least one book that fits into one of the following prompts: Library Book, Nonfiction, Book of the Month (BOTM), Classic, A Requested Review, a book that Starts a Series and one that Finishes a Series. And in April, I added New Release. I am realistic and know that I will not complete all of these prompts every month. But I do try. And…

MAY WRAP UP: What I Read This Month

Hello everyone. Welcome back to Bibliophilia Book Reviews. In this post, I will be doing a wrap up of all the books I read in May. This month was a rather slow reading month for me, and unfortunately I didn’t get to read as many books as I was hoping. It is going to be, then, a rather short wrap up this time around. But I did complete a series and read a couple of books that I really liked. Let’s begin: 1. Ravencaller  by David Dalglish This book is the second installment of The Keepers trilogy by this author,…

APRIL WRAP UP: What I Read This Month

Hello everyone. Welcome back to Bibliophilia Book Reviews. In this post, I will be doing a wrap up of all the books I read in April. This month I completed more prompts for my reading challenge than last month, however I still didn’t finish it. No matter. The point with this reading challenge is to read books that I wouldn’t have read otherwise, not to finish all eight prompts before the end of the month, and I’m accomplishing that. I read some really good books this month, and I am looking forward to talking about each one. I read 10…

MARCH WRAP UP: What I Read This Month

Hello everyone. Welcome back to Bibliophilia Book Reviews. In this post, I will be doing a wrap up of all the books I read in March. This month I read 6 books and I DNF’d 1. In a way, I feel like I did rather poorly this month (I obviously did not complete my reading challenge) but I also think that I did pretty well if that is even possible. And this is because I completed The Faithful And The Fallen series by John Gwynne and these books are monumental. I feel pretty accomplished by that. The prompts that I…
