Hubby:  The Dungeon Crawler Carl Series by Matt Dinniman

My husband has been listening to this series for the last few months and recently finished Book 7. He highly recommends it if what you want is to have a good time and a good laugh. Congratulations! You’ve earned your first achievement: Adding this series to your TBR.

Thing 1 (Age 7): Enchanted Mist (Book 10 of Star Friends Series)

Mia and her friends Lexi, Sita, and Violet all discover that they are Star Friends — they can communicate with the animals that have traveled from the Star World. The animals show the girls how to use their unique magic abilities to do good. In this installment of the series, the school year is ending, and Mia, Lexi, Violet, and Sita are excited to take an end-of-the-year camping trip. Everyone has had a great year except for a new girl named Maddie. She hasn’t made any friends yet and wishes she were popular. But then suddenly, everyone wants to be her friend. The Star Friends suspect that magic is at play—and could Maddie be behind it all?

My 7-year-old has been binge-reading this series for the past few weeks, and she said this is the best book yet! Highly recommended. I like this series because it teaches kids the value of friendship and accepting other for who they are.

Thing 2 (Age 4): Thank you, Thank you, Thank you by Melissa Peck and illustrated by Kendall Antosh

This book teaches kids the power of gratitude. Giraffe takes pride in practicing gratitude and reminds us that there are a lot of things we should be grateful for, including things that we usually take for granted. My youngest daughter, aged 4, loves this book and is most grateful for rainbows (right now).

This is a new type of post that I’ll try to post at the beginning of every month. The intention is add variety to the type of recommendations I give. Thank you for reading.
