Hi everyone. Welcome back to Bibliophilia Book Reviews.

I have a confession to make. This month I didn’t finish any books. I did, however, pick up several, and I will talk here about what I am currently reading or why I didn’t finish some of those books.

1. NONFICTION AND MILITARY HISTORY: Inferno: The World at War, 1939-1945

This is the book I was reading when I posted by July Wrap Up last month, but ultimately decided to put it down for now. The reason: It is a one-volume account of World War II and it goes into every significant battle that occurred in the conflict. And this is fine; it’s what I wanted out of this book, but when it started to talk about the Pacific War and describe naval battles between the US and Japan, I got lost. And this is because I have read absolutely nothing about the Pacific War.  So, this was not the right time for me to read this book. There’s other books I have to read first before I pick this one up again.

2. NONFICTION AND MEMOIR: Black, White, and Gray All Over: A Black Man’s Odyssey in Life and Law Enforcement

This is the second book I was reading at the end of July and I admit I have not been able to finish it yet. This is because I have precious quiet time in the day with two little ones, and it is hard for me to find silence for more than 20 minutes right now. It is still in my currently reading pile, but this one is going to be slow. Sorry.

3. SCIENCE FICTION: The Martian by Andy Weir

I know that this book is very popular, but it is just not for me. I have found that science fiction in general is not my jam, but I did try with this one. I was never immersed in the story though and only picked it up because I had to for one of my book clubs. That should tell you how much I was enjoying it, so I DNF’d it. I know that I may be one of the few people who don’t like this book, but we all have different tastes.

4. NONFICTION AND HISTORY: The Nuremberg Trial by Ann Tusa and John Tusa

This is the book I am currently reading and I am planning on including it in my September Wrap Up.

That is everything for now. I will come back with a full wrap up next month.
